Ascona Autumn Festival
On 3 October, the Autumn Festival returns to the Ascona lakefront.
A step back into the Ticino of old, with traditional costumes, ancient crafts and customs from the valleys. The undisputed star is the chestnut, served in every way imaginable, alongside a market of handmade crafts and local produce set up in the Piazza and on the municipal car park square, with chestnut roasters, a bar and music.
From 12:00, lunch is served in Piazza Torre with polenta and other specialities, and at 14:00 the parade of costume groups from the Ticino valleys (Onsernone, Vallemaggia, Verzasca, Centovalli, Val Bedretto, Chironico) takes to the streets, with songs, horns, brass bands and the traditional chestnut threshing in Piazza Elvezia.
An authentic day out for the whole family, just steps from the lake.
